As part of the ELEVATE project, we visited the headquarters of our partner ShipCon Ltd. in Limassol.

On June 10-14th, 2019, a 5-day job shadowing at ShipCon Limassol Ltd. was held in Limassol.

During the visit to our partner’s headquarters, we had the opportunity to meet the managing director, employees, trainers and talk to the participants of their trainings.

The director of the organization shared with us his experience in training management conducted in various parts of Europe, ways of recruiting trainers and verification of their competences, ways of training evaluation and the most sought after training courses.

The training manager showed us how to create a training offer for adults in the area of non-formal education, how he promotes it and reaches potential training participants. She discussed with us the importance of building relationships with training participants and shared ways and tools that work well at ShipCon.

During meetings with ShipCon trainers, we learned how to conduct training for international groups of participants, what are the challenges for organizations and trainers in relation to such an offer, what is the specificity of working in a foreign language and what are the typical challenges in working in a foreign language and how are they deal with them.

Meetings with training participants organized by ShipCon allowed us to learn about their expectations regarding training, methods of conducting classes and needs during trainings abroad.

The greatest benefit for us is getting to know the experience and good practices related to the management of an organization that conducts training almost all over Europe. In addition, ShipCon employees shared with us proven ways to organize high-quality training. Observation of training conducted for an international group and meeting with its participants enabled us to meet their real needs and expectations. In addition, we exchanged experiences related to the strategic development of the organization.
